I recently moved to a new neighborhood and the closest restaurant to my place is a little place called Pace. Pace is nested in the hills just north of Sunset on Laurel Canyon and is probably one of the best kept secrets of Los Angeles. The lighting is dim and the ambiance has a very country home vibe, however the crowd is far from country since it has a hollywood vibe with celebrities always dining. The whole staff is very friendly and the menu is very vegetarian and health friendly, so if you live in the neighborhood its a once a week type of place, but if you dont, make the trip it is worth it. The pizza is one of my favorites in the city, but on this night I had some Penne.

This past weekend Five Four particpated in an event in San Francisco with Details Magazine and Macy’s Union Square, so we went up there for the night. We got there Friday night and got a chance to walk Union Square and we were starving so two people we know recommended The Rotunda Restaurant inside Neiman Marcus. The restaurant looks like a cathedral in Italy and it is located on the 4th floor and is surrounded by views of Union Sqaure. If you are lucky you can get a table near the window which makes for a great urban dining experience. They are known for their bread, its like a croissant/bread that is served piping hot with butter and strawberry butter.
